Terms of Use

Last updated: October 13, 2026

The responsibilities that help hosts and guests use Gatherway safely, respectfully, and with permission.

Terms at a glance

Five things to know. The details below explain these commitments, responsibilities, and limits.

  1. Many kinds of lawful gatherings are welcome

Gatherway supports different event types, viewpoints, and themes, subject to the same legal, safety, and acceptable-use rules.

  2. Hosting does not mean endorsement

Using Gatherway does not mean we approve, sponsor, or agree with an event, its organizers, or its views. Hosts organize their own events.

  3. Safety and lawful conduct come first

Events promoting violence, abuse, exploitation, unlawful conduct, or serious harm are prohibited. We restrict violations and credible risks of imminent or serious harm, and may act immediately when necessary.

  4. Hosts are responsible for permission and their events

Hosts must provide accurate details, protect guest information, and establish permission to contact recipients. Uploading a guest list does not create consent.

  5. Communication choices must be respected

Guests can request an event-level or platform-wide stop to optional email or texts. Hosts must respect those choices. Delivery and event conduct are not guaranteed; the full Terms explain responsibilities and limits.

1. Using Gatherway

Gatherway provides tools for event invitations, guest lists, RSVPs, and related communications. These Terms govern use of the service by event hosts, workspace administrators, and guests. In these Terms, Gatherway, we, us, and our refer to the operator of the Gatherway service.

By creating an account or using Gatherway to organize an event, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. If you use Gatherway on behalf of an organization, you must be authorized to do so.

2. Event types, independence, and safety

Gatherway supports many kinds of lawful gatherings and does not limit hosts to a particular event category, viewpoint, or theme. All events and communications must still comply with these Terms, applicable law, and the safety and acceptable-use rules below.

An event's presence on Gatherway, or our provision of invitation and RSVP tools, does not mean we approve, sponsor, endorse, or agree with the event, its purpose, its organizers, or the views expressed by participants. Hosts organize their own events and remain responsible for their accuracy, arrangements, and conduct. Do not represent platform access as Gatherway's endorsement.

Events that threaten, encourage, or facilitate violence, abuse, exploitation, unlawful conduct, or other serious harm to hosts, guests, or anyone else are prohibited. We will restrict an event or related access when we reasonably determine that it violates these rules or presents a credible risk of imminent or serious harm. Restrictions may include disabling invitations or messaging, removing event access or content, or suspending an account.

We may act immediately and without prior notice where reasonably necessary to address an urgent safety risk, unlawful activity, or a serious violation. We may review reports and request information from hosts, but we do not claim that every event is reviewed in advance or guarantee that misuse will always be detected. Contact [email protected] to report a concern or request a review of a restriction. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services; Gatherway is not an emergency-response service.

3. Accounts and access

You must provide accurate information, protect your account and invitation links, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Do not share private invitation links more widely than the host intends.

Hosts must be at least 18 years old or have the legal authority needed to enter these Terms. Hosts are responsible for obtaining appropriate parent or guardian permission when collecting information about children or inviting them to an event.

4. Host responsibilities and guest information

Hosts decide which events to create, who to invite, and what information to request. You must have the necessary permission or other applicable lawful basis to provide each guest's information and contact that person about the event. Uploading an address or accepting these Terms does not itself establish the recipient's consent.

Before asking Gatherway to send email or text messages, you must establish that the recipient has agreed to receive those communications, or that the particular message has another applicable legal basis. Keep evidence of the source, date, channel, and scope of permission and provide it to us on reasonable request. Knowing someone's address or phone number is not, by itself, proof of permission.

Explain to guests how their information will be used. Collect only information reasonably needed for the event, use it only for the disclosed purposes, and respect privacy and communication preferences. Do not upload information you are not entitled to share. Do not require sensitive information unnecessarily.

5. Email, text messages, and communication choices

Gatherway may deliver invitations, event updates, reminders, RSVP confirmations, and requested verification messages on a host's behalf. Delivery is not guaranteed; providers, recipient settings, and network conditions can affect delivery. Standard mobile message and data rates may apply.

Recipients may ask to stop optional communications for one event or for all Gatherway events, separately for email and text messages. Contact the host or Gatherway and identify the address or number, communication channel, and scope of the request. A platform-wide request applies across hosts and future events; it is not an irrevocable ban, and recipients may explicitly opt back in.

Hosts must honor communication withdrawals and must not override them by importing the same contact again, creating another event, or using another workspace. Declining an RSVP does not automatically mean the recipient has opted out, and opting out does not by itself cancel an RSVP.

A request to stop optional messages does not authorize unrelated marketing. A verification code that you explicitly request to sign in is handled separately from invitations and reminders. A carrier or messaging provider may still block delivery after a text-message opt-out.

Correspondence delivered on a host's behalf may include brief Gatherway branding, attribution, or promotional text identifying the platform and helping others discover it. This does not authorize separate marketing campaigns or override recipient permission or communication withdrawals. Gatherway does not give hosts permission to send unsolicited bulk messages, buy or rent lists, scrape contact details, or use the service for unrelated advertising. Hosts must identify themselves appropriately in their messages and comply with applicable electronic-messaging requirements.

6. Acceptable use

We may investigate reports, restrict sending, suspend an account, or remove content where reasonably necessary to address misuse, protect users, comply with law, or meet service-provider requirements. Contact us to report suspected misuse or ask about a restriction.

  • Do not send spam, fraudulent messages, phishing, threats, harassment, or unlawful content, or use an event to promote violence, abuse, exploitation, unlawful conduct, or other serious harm.
  • Do not use purchased, rented, scraped, or otherwise unauthorized recipient lists.
  • Do not impersonate others or misrepresent an event, sender, or recipient's permission.
  • Do not bypass authentication, access another workspace's data, interfere with the service, or attempt to defeat communication preferences or security controls.
  • Do not upload content that infringes another person's rights or disclose private information without authorization.

7. Your content and event responsibilities

You retain your rights in the event descriptions, images, guest information, and other content you provide. You grant Gatherway permission to store, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the service, deliver your authorized communications, and maintain security and backups.

Hosts are responsible for event accuracy, safety, eligibility, arrangements, and any charges or agreements associated with their events. Gatherway is not the event organizer and does not guarantee attendance or the conduct of hosts or guests.

8. Gatherway's software and branding

The service's software, design, branding, and documentation belong to Gatherway, its licensors, or their respective rights holders. These Terms give you permission to use the service for its intended purposes while you comply with them; they do not transfer ownership of the platform or grant a right to use Gatherway's branding to suggest an endorsement. Rights granted under applicable law or an applicable third-party software license remain unaffected.

Your event content remains yours, subject to the limited permission needed to operate the service described above. We do not claim ownership of a host's guest list or a guest's personal information simply because it is processed through Gatherway.

9. Availability and responsibility

We work to provide a useful and secure service, but Gatherway may be interrupted, changed, or unavailable. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every event. Keep independent copies of important information and use another way to reach guests when timing or safety is critical.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Gatherway is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by service interruptions, failed message delivery, or third-party conduct. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights.

10. Ending use and changes to these Terms

You may stop using the service and contact us about account closure or your personal information. Closing an account does not necessarily delete event records held by another host or information we must retain for security, legal obligations, backups, or communication-withdrawal records. Our Privacy Policy explains these distinctions.

We may update these Terms. We will publish the updated version and date here and provide additional notice where appropriate or required. Changes do not retroactively create recipient consent or authorize new uses of personal information.

11. Contact and concerns

For support, privacy requests, unwanted messages, or abuse reports, contact [email protected]. Include enough information to identify the relevant event or account, but do not send passwords, verification codes, or unnecessary sensitive information. We may request proportionate information to verify a request before disclosing or changing personal information.
